IES MEDINA ALBAIDA ENGLISH WEEK

logo

This next week 7th to 11th March a group of students of 3ºESO are taking an ‘Englñish Week’ we are travelling to Santa Susana, Barcelona, to experience a week in a camp with native teachers and monitors. There will be plenty of sport activities, English and fun! Are you ready to come? Remember to bring sport clothes, swimming suit, trainers, towels and sleeping bag.

Our English week is organized by Grupos Organizados. It is a stay centered on the practice of English of school students with  native English speakers via an intense coexistence with them while performing a multitude of activities in the natural environment.

PROGRAMA_EW_PDF

It is a stay where students practice “real English”, the everyday English they would use if they travelled to an English speaking country. We want our students to live firsthand what it would be like to be surrounded by the language. This is done in a real context of communication so in that way they feel that all of the English they study in school has meaning

LEAP YEAR 2016

This February we have an extra day, February 29th. This happens every 4 years as you may know.

  • Do you remember where did you do last 29th February?
  • What will you be doing in 4 years time, when next 29th February would appear again in our calendar?
  • Do you know any ‘leaper’ or ‘leapling’? How old is he/she supposed to be officially?
  • But do you know why this 2016 is 366 days long?

The Earth actually takes 365 day, 5hours 48 minutes and 46 seconds exactly, to make a complete circle around the sun. In order to account for these 6 extra hours, we have to add an extra day every few years to keep our calendar in sync.Leap-Year-Infographic-CheapSally.com_
