WHY IS SHAKESPEARE FAMOUS?

Shakespeare was born in 1564 and died in 1616. He became famous because he wrote poems and plays, also in 1603 when James I was coronated, he became a kingsman.
THE YOUNG SHAKESPEARE

He was christened, he was baptised on 26th April 1564, and his birthday was on 23rd April. He left school at 16, he worked as a teacher and he helped his father. In 1582 he got married to Anne Hathaway and they had a daughter, Susana, and twins.
SHAKESPEARE IN LONDON

Some of his life is a mystery, but we know that he went to London in 1590 because it had theaters and a lot of markets. In 1592 he was already being talked about, reason for which a jealous writer named Robert Greene wrote ride things about him.
PLAYS IN SHAKESPEARE’S TIME

William Shakespeare was a member of a company of actors called the Lord Chamberlain’s Men. In 1997 the New Globe Theatre was built, a copy of Shakespeare’s Globe. Over the stage there was a roof to keep off the rain. There was a tramp door in the stage too, so actors could pop up to surprise the audience. There were ghost, witches, loud sounds… He wrote comedy plays with happy ending and people falling in love with disguises (Midsummer Night’s Dream with fairies and humans) tragedies, stories with sad ending ( Romeo and Juliet), and history plays with real people like Julius Caesar, or English kings.

Shakespeare was a rich and famous writer who wrote some important plays (like Hamlet). He also wrote poems: sonnets and others. He invented expressions, but the English language has changed since Shakespeare’s time. He died on 23rd April 1616.
